We had so much fun with family and friends at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve finding out the gender of baby Rockett #2! We couldn’t be more excited for our little #Rockettman on the way, due October 6th.
This pregnancy has felt different in many ways then when I was pregnant the first time. It definitely feels like it’s going a lot faster, as time has seem to be flying ever since Stella was born. The quote that the days are long but the years are short rings true more than ever. I can’t believe we are in the midst of planning her second birthday!
First Trimester I had a lot of morning/day/night sickness like the first time, just add chasing a toddler to the exhaustion. I am so thankful that my busy photo season was at the beginning of my second trimester when I started to feel better.
The spring was filled with 3 weddings to shoot, a few families, corporate events, and editing almost every nap and right after she went to bed, as I am usually ready to fall asleep shortly after she does. I felt bad that I barely documented her in the spring, not wanting to add to my workload, but it did feel good to get a lot of work in during that time so that I could relax and play with her this summer as I start to get bigger.
I gained 60+ pounds in my second and third trimester with Stella, and am really trying to not let that happen again. It was hard to get off, and added a lot to my mental state which was already weary from lack of sleep. I foresee a lot chasing her at splash parks and walking the malls this summer.
To add to the excitement this time around, my sister is pregnant and due 7 weeks after me! It is so fun to go through this amazing stage of life together, my life long dream of raising cousins all around the same age together is coming true and I couldn’t be more excited.
